London:: William Lloyd,, 1738. Octavo. Contemporary calf with gilt rules, decorative devices to corners. If. (frontispiece), If. (title printed in red and black), 128ff. printed on one side only. With melodic lines to 121 individual songs, each with figured and unfigured bass, text, and a separate part for flute, with charming engraved vignette to head of each leaf illustrating the song. Remants of red sealing wax to endpaper. Some browning and minor staining; frontspiece partially detached. Binding somewhat worn, rubbed and bumped; hinges split but holding soundly, an attractively unsophisticated copy.

Named composers/arrangers include Anthony Young, Clarice, Sigr. Putti of Cambridge, Lampe, Munro, Leveridge, Carey, Galliard, Henry Purcell, Nicolle R. Vincent, Dr. Greene, Festing, Corelli, John Allcock, John Sheeles, Vanbrugh, Turner, Arne, Thos. Phillips, Digarde, Stanley, Handel, Sandford and Howard. With interesting manuscript inventory to front pastedown detailing "An Account of Plate in My Mothers House," listing an inventory of 16 items, "This Account taken the 9: Augt. 1744 in her House at the College in Rotherham by me Richd. I Kent."

"This very rare work, not mentioned by Lowndes, is stated in the Huth Catalogue to consist of 130 pages printed on one side only - included in which are the title and frontispiece (a gentleman in classical garb addressing the nine muses).
